To celebrate our recently completed fully custom home, we are highlighting the beautiful Andrew floorplan that is a ranch home with walkout basement (including beautiful photos of this recently completed home).
The Living Areas
The Andrew floorplan is a ranch home with walkout basement with an extra deep three-car garage on the front of the home, but that is just where the luxury starts. The main level ranges from 1,950 to 2,450 square feet, but the 10’ ceilings throughout the main level and the 13’ ceilings in the entry and great room make it feel even more spacious. This open concept living area has a gas fireplace with built-ins on the sides (this beautiful home has a brick finish and a statement mantle). The rear wall in the great room has large windows looking into the pond on the property and adding lots of natural light to the space. Next to the windows is a four-panel sliding door onto the deck. This large deck is covered, screened in, and has stairs down to the backyard.
Also included in the great room is the kitchen. A large island with seating on one side, and a farmhouse sink and cabinets on the other side sit in the middle of this kitchen. Custom floor-to-ceiling cabinets and, of course, quartz countertops fill out the space. But the real star of the space in the hidden butler pantry that provides storage and a “grocery door” to the garage.
The Bedrooms
The luxury continues into the sleeping arrangements, four bedrooms, including the primary suite, are located on the main level. The primary suite has a double vanity, soaking tub, tiled shower, and a large walk-in closet. This room is located on the left side of the home, as is the office space/second bedroom and a guest bathroom. The other two bedrooms are both located on the right side of the home with a Jack-and-Jill bathroom between them.
Everything Else
The other home areas include the laundry room, a custom tiled dog shower (keeping your four-legged friend clean) or laundry sink, and the basement. The basement in this custom home is unfinished, but if finished, the basement of the Andrew plan is 2,109 square feet of added living space and bedrooms. The finished basement adds 2 bedrooms, 3/4 bathroom, a gym, wet bar with island, family room, and storage.
The Story Behind the Name
The Andrew plan is one of the many beautiful floorplans that Embarq offers, but it has special significance for our director of operations, Steph Reed.
The Andrew plan is named after Steph’s cousin, Army Sgt. Andrew C. Perkins who died March 5, 2007, serving During Operation Iraqi Freedom. Steph shares, “He was the third child of 5 in his family. He was always the most adorable little boy & young man with the best sense of humor & a killer smile. I would sometimes babysit Andrew and his siblings when they were young. Such fond memories of jumping on trampolines, hanging at Grandma’s house and laughter. Andrew was the best kind of hero. Not just because he died defending his country but also because he was a lover of peace, kindness, family & brotherhood!” He certainly left a mark on his family and to honor him, the Andrew Plan was named.
